Somewhere between mixing and mastering. Send your song as a handful of stems and we master each one, so we can fine-tune balance and clarity a stereo master cannot reach.
★ Up to 5 or 10 stems · more control · real engineers
A normal master works on your finished stereo file as one piece. Stem mastering works on a few grouped stems (for example vocals, drums, bass and music) so we can nudge the balance between them while we master.
That extra control is useful when a mix is close but a group needs a small lift or pull, or when you want a fuller, more controlled result than a single stereo pass. It sits neatly between a full mix and a standard master.
Each stem is fine-tuned for clarity, balance and dynamics, then brought together into a loud, clean, streaming-ready master.
Only have a finished stereo mix? The standard Mastering Service is the right fit. Need a full mix from scratch? See Mixing and Mastering.
A polished, loud, streaming-ready master built from your stems, in WAV plus MP3.
Balance and dynamics adjusted across your stem groups, not just the stereo sum.
A real engineer handles your master and stays in touch until it is right.
5-stem mastering covers up to 5 stems. 10-stem mastering covers up to 10 stems. Export each stem separately in WAV or AIFF, 24-bit, 44.1 kHz or higher.
Export each stem separately (vocals, bass, drums, synths, effects, and so on) as WAV or AIFF, 24-bit, 44.1 kHz or higher. Bounce all stems from the same start point so they line up perfectly.
Keep any processing you like on the stems, but leave a little headroom and no limiter on the master bus. Label each stem clearly.
Add notes for any stem that needs special attention, and send a reference track if you have one.
